It is on Keawakapu Beach, which many locals call the finest beach on the Island of Maui. Most days, especially in the morning, the water is flat and perfect for snorkeling just 150 feet from your room. Later in the afternoon, if the wind picks up a bit, small waves form which are perfect for boogie or body boarding.

Just head down to the beach. Forget something? In one minute you are can walk back home to pick it up!

Golf at nearby Wailea, Makena and Silverwood courses.[/toggle]

[toggle title=”Climate” open=”no”]Sheltered from the prevailing northeast trade winds, Kihei averages about 4 inches of rain per year. The “rainy” season is December through March. A long period of rain might be five minutes. I hope that is OK?

Normally skies are bright, clear and sunny in the morning with occasional clouds sheltering beach goers in the afternoon. Winds are light or non existent in the morning and pick up to light winds in the late afternoon as the uneven heating of the water and land occurs. Near sunset the wind dies down again. Kihei is sheltered from the trade winds by the extinct volcano Haleakala. Temperatures range from approximately 70 to 85 degrees in the day, and 65 to 75 at night depending on the season.

But be sure to wear sun screen as the you are nearer the equator and closer to the Sun[/toggle]

Token operated Washer/Dryers are on each floor. Meeting and conference facilities are available on-site and a Yoga Class.  There are new BBQs.[/toggle]

You can walk to them just down the beach and smile, as you know you are staying at a better equipped facility for a lot less money. You can even cook something if you want for a lot less money and it is quieter. If not, you can eat at the hotel facilities.[/toggle]

The Maui Mana Kai has the fine dining Five Palms Restaurant downstairs and right on the beach. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the 5 Palms has an outside and inside dining area as well, as a full bar.

Next door and also on the beach is the new Sorentos owned and managed by Tri-Star Restaurants. Sorentos, fine Italian dining, has the same name as its sister restaurant located in Honolulu. Tri-Star also runs the world famous Nick’s Fish Market at the Kai Lanai Resort about 1.5 miles south of the Mana Kai and Sun over on the west side of Maui in Kaanapali. These restaurants employ team serving, whereby a group of waiters and bus people all combine to satisfy your every need.

Within a 20 minute drive there are over 25 exceptional restaurants.
